Fun activities for women in 2019

As we say goodbye to 2018, we reflect on the year that we’ve just experienced. Now’s the time to think about whether you really made the most of the year, and if you did the things you wanted to do.

If the answer is no, you may have found that you got so wrapped up in getting through day-to-day life that you forgot to make time for other things that matter- like free time and fun activities for yourself.

Luckily, the start of a new year is a great time to figure out what types of hobbies make your heart sing. Whether that means learning to pole dance or researching the best motorcycle helmets for women, here are a few fun activities to try next year:

Martial Arts

I credit martial arts for my ability to get out of tough situations relatively quickly. You’d be surprised how much you learn about finding ways not to fight with most types of self-defense. Whether you live in a dodgy neighborhood, or you’ve simply always wanted to learn how to defend yourself, there are a wide range of martial arts to choose from- whether you’d like to learn how to do fancy kicks and sparring (Tae Kwon Do), or you prefer more real-world style fighting like mixed martial arts.

Do yourself a favor and spend some time researching which type you’d like to try. Most clubs will give you one free lesson so you can see if it’s for you, so sign up and give it a go.

Motorcycling

Why should guys have all the fun? Motorcycling is becoming hugely popular among women of all ages- in fact, women are the fastest-growing demographic. If you’re not sure if you’re ready to commit to buying a bike, you have plenty of options. You can always borrow or hire a bike, or find a place that has bikes to try while you’re taking lessons. You can also find cheap motorcycle clothing online, so if you’re just getting started with this hobby, it makes more sense to look for motorcycle jackets for women that won’t break the bank.

Learning a Language

Have you always wanted to learn a language? Maybe it’s been on your bucket list for years? Now’s the time to start. It’s never been easier to learn a language with online tools and apps like Duolingo. There are also plenty of great YouTube channels and you can get cheap lessons online via Skype and companies like iTalki.
