A good night’s sleep is only possible with a well maintained bed and mattress. Whether your bed is heaped with too many pillows or is minimally spare, it is important to keep beds and mattresses in the top shape. As we all spend 1/3rd of our lives sleeping and staying on the bed, it is crucial to maintain the beds and care for them.

Use a vacuum cleaner to clean below the beds and pillows

There are miniscule creatures under the bed and inside the bed to cause skin ailments. Bed bugs feed on the dead skin cells of humans. They can cause skin allergies, skin rashes and eruptions. When you inhale in dust mites, it might trigger the production of excessive histamine. So, there may be coughing, sneezing, wheezing and other problems. Make sure you use a vacuum cleaner to extract the dust mites and bedbugs from the bed. If there is no suction formula in the cleaner, it will just transfer the dust and mites in the air.

Effectively clean the mattress

Change the pillow cover and bed sheet frequently

Avoid using the bed while eating

Do not eat on the bed and avoid using the bed when you return from outside. Your clothes may have germs and bacteria from sweat and so this can get transferred to the bed. Wear clean clothes and then use your bed.

Proper stain cleaning is must

If any stain occurs, make use of proper upholstery shampoo to clean the stain. You can use dry suds to clean the surface. But, do not rub the area vigorously as that can spoil the fabric.

Wash bedding with hot water

To kill the dust mites, you need to wash the mattress with temperatures of 130 degrees Fahrenheit. Cold water washing is not recommended if you want to kill the dust mites.
