Feeling run down and burnt out? Here’s how to get your health back this year

When was the last time you prioritized your health? Unfortunately, it’s easy to take our health for granted until we get injured or sick and then realize exactly how much we had to lose. If you’re feeling run down, burnt out, or you seem to pick up every bug that’s going around, now’s the time to work on your health- before you lose it.

One of the best ways to get your health back? Quit smoking. This is at the top of the list because it’s so important. Smoking ruins your health in a number of ways. Not only are you at risk from all sorts of cancer- everything from mouth, throat, and lung cancer, but smoking damages your immune system, which is why smokers tend to get sicker more often than the average person. Not to mention, smoking ravages your face- if you can’t bring yourself to care about the potential health implications, just think about the wrinkles and leathery skin you’ll be looking at in the mirror in ten or twenty years.

One of the best ways to quit smoking? Start vaping instead. This can be a particularly good middle ground if you’re hoping to quit completely, as you can gradually wean yourself off the nicotine. Plus, vaping isn’t as socially unacceptable as smoking, and you’re unlikely to annoy your close friends and family members like you do when you’re smoking next to them. You can get a variety of e-liquid flavors, at London Vape Co. making it a great option if you want to be done with tobacco for good.

Weight loss is another good way to improve both your health, and your self-confidence. Often, a bit of extra ‘padding’ can creep up on us. We get busy with work and forget to hit the gym (or we’re simply too tired), we’re eating on the run, or we’re simply prioritizing everything but our health.

If this sounds familiar, now’s the time to make a conscious effort to drop the weight this year. Luckily, this can be a lot easier than you’d think. While exercise is definitely important for good health, diet makes up around 80% of your weight loss- so you should definitely prioritize what you’re putting in your mouth.

If you don’t have time to cook, consider going to the grocery store and meal prepping in the weekend. That way, you can come straight home and eat a healthy meal. Another good option? Services like Blue Apron which deliver all the ingredients and instructions you need to make a meal in around 30 minutes.
