If you’re anything like me, you probably have more shoes than you need, and yet still find yourself lamenting that you have absolutely nothing to put on your feet when it’s time to go to that special event.
The problem is that when we see all those pretty shoes lined up in stores, we often fail to think about where we’ll actually wear them, so we end up with a bunch of beautiful but impractical shoes, and still find ourselves scraping the bottom of our closet when we need a pair for a specific event like a wedding, job interview, funeral, or party.
Here are the 5 types of shoes every girl needs:
Heels
There’s something about wearing a nice pair of heels that just gives you confidence. When to heels, you may have spent serious money on a variety of cheap pairs that you can only wear for a couple of hours before your feet begin crying for mercy. If you want to wear heels, the best thing you can do is save the money you would spend on these cheaper pairs, and invest in a designer which makes comfortable and long-lasting shoes.
If you’re going to invest in a pair of heels, your best bet is to get a basic black heel that’s sexy but not too high. With a basic pair of black heels, you can wear them in the office, out to do dinner and dancing, to funerals, weddings and job interviews, and they’ll pretty much pay for themselves within a year.
Boots
When the leaves begin to change colour and there’s a chill in the air, there’s nothing better than a nice comfortable pair of boots. Spring and Autumn are both great opportunities to dig your boots out of your wardrobe, and with so many styles and colours, you’re bound to find a favourite pair. If you need a much durable pair especially to wear to work, you can grab a pair of safety boots, not only you can wear it at work and protect you from harsh chemicals from work but most of them are very stylish and tough.
Sneakers
Yes, I am including sneakers on this list because any active, fit girl knows that they’re probably a pair of shoes that get the most wear, so it’s important that you choose wisely. For those who like to mix it up at the gym or play multiple sports, grab a good pair of cross-trainers and be sure to spend some time hopping and running around the store to see how they feel. Runners should get their feet checked so you know if you have flat feet or high arches and can choose appropriately. Know more about the best shoe brands for plantar fasciitis.
Flats
A cute pair of flats is the perfect day-to-night shoe. Make sure you have at least one pair of comfortable black flats, and choose a cute colourful pair for wandering around markets, shopping, and running errands throughout the day. You may find that if you choose a cheap pair of flats they can give you even more blisters than heels do, so be sure to break them in gradually before wearing them out for hours.
Wedges
For a great in-between option for those who aren’t sure if they want to wear flats or high heels, consider a pair of wedges. These are a comfortable way to get some height, but can also be worn during the day with a cute beach dress.
