6 Cool Party Ideas for Adults

Just because you have grown up, doesn’t mean you have outgrown having an amazing party. Having an awesome party doesn’t have to cost a lot of money, you can use discount codes, online sales and sales to ensure you get everything you need for your party.

Here are six cool party ideas for adults.

1. Pick a Theme

Face it, theme parties from your childhood were always a lot of fun to plan, that doesn’t have to end just because you are an adult. You can choose any theme you want and get your decor, food and activities to fit within this theme. Why not throw a 1930’s flapper-style party and serve period cocktails, or, have a vintage themed birthday bash and serve quality wine and canapes. The sky is the limit.

2. Fingers Foods

If a sit-down dinner is not your thing, consider serving your guests mini finger-foods instead. Having a fiesta birthday party? Why not serve mini tacos. If your theme is more fun, make your own Jell-o shooters in fun flavors like Margherita or strawberry mimosa to go along with the theme.

3. Have a Signature Cocktail

Are Margherita’s your drink of choice? Consider including them in your party theme and have a couple of different flavors to offer your friends. If you’re a vodka girl, make yourself some vodka-gummy bear popsicles to wow your guests. Pinterest can be your best friend when looking for ideas for a signature drink.

4. Pick a Fun Activity

Create your own photo booth for your guests to use during your party. Make a fun background that works for your theme, create a couple of props to go with it and ask everyone to share their cell-phone photos with you. It is a great way to add some fun memories to your party. Hosting an outside barbeque? Get an adult-sized Jenga game, or a set of lawn dice for your guests to play with during the party. Not only will it be fun, but, your guests will talk about it for years.

5. Make it a Learning Opportunity

If you love to cook and want to throw yourself a party, host it at a cooking class so you and your guests can learn to make a new meal. If you’re more of the creative kind, host a paint night for everyone to make their own masterpieces. Not only are these parties easy to plan, but your guests will appreciate the hands-on, fun activity.

6. Slumber Party

Go old school with a good, old-fashion slumber party. Get your best girlfriends together, make some popcorn, grab your wine and put on some good movies. If you’re really throwing it back, you can set up a manicure/ pedicure station and a makeover station to experiment on all your friends. In the morning, host a brunch with mimosas.

Just because you’re an adult, doesn’t mean you need to stop celebrating. Plan something fun with your friends, make it a theme and serve some great food and drinks. If you’re hosting a large celebration, create an activity for your guests to keep entertained. If your group is smaller, consider doing a cooking class, or a paint night for a fun celebration. When all else fails, go back to your childhood and host a throwback party with your best friends. Whatever you decide to do, have fun with it and make it something to remember.
