6 Things You Can Do After Buying Your First House

Buying your first house can sometimes draw a lot of emotions. There is a feeling of happiness because you finally have a home that you can call your own. There is a serene feeling of fulfillment- that you were able to buy one. You can also shed a few happy tears because it might be your dream to buy your own house.

Now, after spending all that hard-earned money and finishing all the paper work, arranging for a house clearance, you may be wondering what’s next? It’s a call for a celebration! You have every right to do so because buying your own house is already an achievement. Now, holding a big party can be quite troublesome because you might have to wait for a couple of days to move in to finish. So, what can you do?

1.       Take a family portrait.

It doesn’t have to be done by an official photographer. All you need is your phone and all the other members of the family. If you have a dog, include him! This is a memorable way of celebrating- the first picture taken inside your very own home. Have it printed, frame it, and display it anywhere you like. Nothing beats celebrating this milestone than the people who will make it home- your family.

2.   Have your first family meal.

You don’t have to worry about the food you will eat- whether it’s an indoor picnic, a quick lunch, a pizza party or an outdoor barbeque party as long as you share your first meal inside your new home. Eating with your family members makes this achievement more meaningful.

3.   Have some good champagne ready.

After a whole day of hauling boxes and furniture into your new home, you deserve a good drink. Since today is a special day, your drink must also be exceptional. Grab a nice bottle of champagne and celebrate with everyone. Pour glasses and make a toast. Nothing says “celebration” quite like a bottle of bubbly champagne. It is also an excellent way to commemorate the end of the buying process and the start of a new chapter in your life as a homeowner.

4.   Buy some new furniture.

Since it is your first home, why not splurge on some good furniture? Anyway, the place is already yours, and you can design it to whatever fits your personality and taste. It might also help the home movers do their job since you can leave or sell all your old furniture. In that way, moving in can be much easier and faster.

5.   Buy some new wall arts or paintings.

Liven up your walls by adding some modern farmhouse wall signs. You can choose from different subjects like nature, portraits, and more.

6.   Throw that house warming party!

After all the moving in process is done, it’s time to invite your friends and neighbors to a house warming party. It’s also the right way of celebrating this milestone with other people. This party can be your introduction as you meet new faces in your community whom you will be interacting a lot with.

Celebrating your first home isn’t quite a hard task. After all, you still get to decide if you want a big celebration or just a small one. But whatever it is, be sure to celebrate this memorable milestone in your life.
